The rand is one of the key variables in the economy. On the Rand-Forex page you will get access to the weekly commentary that will discuss the most important events over the previous week that may have a bearing on the value of the rand.

In addition to the weekly commentary there are also consensus forecasts of the rand as well as a look at the purchasing power parity value of the rand. Relevant studies as well as links to relevant studies are also posted here.

There is also a foreign exchange calculator that allows the user to put in assumptions on the change in the trade-weighted rand, as well as assumptions on the key cross rates. The calculator will then calculate the value of the rand against the major currencies.

If requested the weekly commentary will be send electronically without any obligation to the recipient.

There are interesting links where information as well as data can be found on currencies.

The graph left to the title shows the real effective exchange rate of the rand since the beginning of 1957 to the end of 2003.
